National Library of Latvia asked me to create 3 animations explaining the vision, goals, history and functionality of their latest project – National Encyclopedia.

It's a huge and ambitious project with a goal to provide trustworthy and qualitative information in Latvian, covering all the fields of scientific study and to become the main resource for popular-science related subjects in Latvia.

National Encyclopedia hand–picks reliable experts that provide trustworthy information, which is easily accessible to the general public online and has a vision to improve and evolve to the needs of the future.

History
The development of Latvian encyclopedia started in the Free State times when its author managed to publish 21 volume of it, before getting abruptly interrupted by the occupation of Soviets and their version of the book. The cold war resulted in the collapse of the Soviet Union, which gave way to the modern day Latvia and its digital encyclopedia.

How it works
The scientist provides content, which is then edited by the editorial staff and published online for the use of general public.
